Boyesen Backed DRT Kawasaki Places Season Best in MXGP of Spain!
A Winning Formula. The Boyesen Factory Advantage.
Talavera de la Reina was the site for round six of the FIM Motocross World Championship and was a stage in which the Boyesen backed, Monster Energy Dixon Racing Team Kawasaki’s Max Anstie rode to fourth overall and was within one lap of grabbing his first bottle of podium champagne this season. 20,000 fans made the journey to the town southwest of Madrid and basked in temperatures that were closer to thirty than the thirteen found two weeks ago for the Grand Prix of Europe in the Netherlands.

Talavera was tight and unforgiving with a layout that continually climbed or dropped around the three shallow hills that comprised the forest setting only a few kilometres from the town centre. Anstie got immediately down to work on Saturday and pulled off some good lap-times in the MX2 Qualification Heat to move from fifth to second place for his best qualification position of the season.

Anstie’s efforts mean that the ‘99’ machine is now tenth in the MX2 standings. He needs 26 points to climb to ninth.

A big one next for Monster Energy DRT Kawasaki. The British Grand Prix represents a busy home meeting for the team and also Max Anstie. The crew will welcome teenager American rookie Darian Sanayei into the fold and on the KX250F while Mel Pocock will make a popular return to the GP paddock and will take a four-wheeled lap of the Matterley Basin circuit. Round seven will kick off in two weeks time and on the weekend of May 23-24.

Max Anstie's Performance

Qualifying - 2nd
MX2 Race 1 - 2nd
MX2 Race 2 - 9th
MX2 Overall - 4th

Max Anstie:
“A massive improvement. It was difficult out there because everyone was going fast and the track had been watered so much in the second moto. It was like a mud race! I didn’t want to crash and I’d seen Jeffrey go down but I was trying to make up time and was sliding all over the place when I went off that one line everyone was riding. Anyway there were a lot of positives from yesterday and today. We were solid and right there the whole time. We just didn't get a break in the second one. I’m looking forward to Matterley now.”

Steve Dixon, Team Manager:
"It was good to have another sold weekend. It's one of the first times this year someone has chased Jeffrey down and kept with him. It's unfortunate that in the second race he was taken wide as Ferrandis came over. Whilst it was disappointing to come away without a podium, we've been to three different track surfaces in the past few GP's and Max has done well in all of them. We look forward now to the British GP at our home round!"
